New Years Blog Event Sponsored by Carrie Ann Ryan

Greetings fans.

This is Shar, not Michael speaking!

Today is the New Years Eve Blog Hop. Woot. There are two special prizes being given away too so stayed tuned for that but first, enjoy my memory from New years which is slightly embarrassing but hell, it's a memory.

So, let's chalk this up to stupid things you do when you're younger since it happened before I turned 30. Me and my bff's stayed at a hotel, which used to be the House of Blues here in Chicago. Six gals, lots of liquor, trouble right? Oh yeah lots!

Anyway, we split the cost, had 2 double beds and 2 cots as well. We didn't have many plans except to get all dressed up and go down to the bar in the hotel which was practically dead by the way as well as try sneaking into the show they had at the HOB which I believe that year was Goo Goo Dolls. LMAO how fun right? To continue, we also had brought some various appetizers. Meats, cheeses, shrimp cocktail to munch on as well as small deserts. Most of the day I hadn't eaten anything but once we started partying, I did have some of it including Truffles.

From there, I had a few things to drink. I think some Vodka and most likely some Jagermeister, since I recall becoming quite fond of it around that time. Needless to say, by the end of the night which was after 2am, I was sick as a dog and well, lets just say it wasn't pretty. Thank goodness for having great friends, especially my "twin" E who helped me get through the rest of the morning. I was supposed to be into work that next day and I worked downtown at a retailer as a manager. Of course I didn't make it and I couldn't eat anything that following day until late at night.

:(

So, lesson learned! LMAO Never drink on an empty stomach. Appetizers are not enough and dont mix Vodka and Jager. LOL

Hope you enjoyed that and make sure you check out all the fabulous authors who have made it possible for you to win 2 great prizes. One a Kindle Fire and Two an $80 GC from Amazon! WOW!

My gift to give is an ebook from Michael's backlist and a GC as well. So please comment!

Look for Michael's next book, Vertigo to come out very soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh my, that certainly is a memorable one! I have't done anything at all like that, haven't even got a kiss from a special someone yet, it'll happen though. But I have spent it with family, so I've gotten at least a hug ;)

Shar,

Loving how all of our "memories" are varying greatly, lol! Just dropping by and saying hello!

Yeah I learned the hard way to never drink on an empty stomach as well. Not quite the way you did. Mine was a minor case of alcohol poisoning, though it sure didn't feel minor to me.

I think about everyone has a memory like that, just maybe not on NYE. It's just one of those lessons you have to learn for yourself.

Ugh my first new years after I was 21 I did shots all night with beer chasers and everyone of my friends handed me different ones. Someone snuck in a rumplmin's which is just cruel to do to anyone. Don't drink it. It's NASTY! It's also evil and will haunt you the next day as it taste like mouth wash and you will burp it I don't care WHAT you try to do to get rid of it.

I only got really drunk once and when I didn't wake up with a hang over and in fact had a huge breakfast and went to work it scared me since my dad was an alcoholic that from then on I vowed to be a 1-2 drink maximum girl.

Oh, those 'morning afters'! I try to avoid them as much as possible, anymore. Usually just have a quiet evening at home with family.

Not laughing at your expense - laughing WITH you because I've been there! LOL, LOL, LOL!! Dang, that booze sure is fun going down, isn't it? I did the same thing, ONCE! Not on New Years Eve, but anyway, the bouncer ended up carrying me out to the jeep, I ended up on the median on the main strip in Colorado Springs hurling on several stops on the way home, and woke up the next morning with one of my guy friends in bed with me...horrified, thinking the worst. It happens that he stayed with me because I guess I was sick in my sleep even and he took care of me. That was the last time I got drunk, EVER.
Dang, the things you do when you are young! I never tell my kids these things, lol.
Thanks for the story, and the giveaway! Made my day, hehe!

Ow! I too learned not to drink on an empty stomach, but not on New Years.
My New years memory was watching my Mom perform an old German custom she learned from her Mom. Have champagne in one hand & pickled herring in another( yes, I know it's gross). At 12 am, eat the herring and chase it with the champagne. It's an old wives tale that is supposed to bring luck all thru the year.

Well my birthdays New Years eve so I could tell tons of stories from that! LOL But one of my most memorable would probably have to be last year just for how funny it was. My friend was 9months pregnant. Due any time and she decided that she wanted to play 'Just Dance' on my wii. So she seriously got into it. It was insane watching her dance with her big belly. I have it on video. Probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. :) I don't even want to get into this year and the drinking games! Ahh insane. Thanks!

Hi, Michael- I don't mind to post here. Your books seem very interesting to me. I am very curious about them. ;) By the way, should I say about NYE story here? If so, my NYE
Memory was to spend my time with my family and attended my cousin's wedding at the Disneyland World, located in Florida last January 1, 2011.

For my NYE Resoluation 2012- I am considering to start writing my first book but I need to find my free time first. :)
