Day 6 Michael's 70 K Bash - Avril Ashton

Good afternoon, my next guest is a friend and lovely author. I've read a couple of her pieces and I've got much catching up to do. She writes characters with spunk, bad asses! I could really take a cue from her when I write a couple of mine in the not so distant future. Please welcome Avril Ashton. Oh and she said she brought a couple of friends along to party with! *winks*

Congrats to Michael for reaching that 70k mark and for inviting me along to celebrate. I thought about saying no when Michael called me up, my schedule being all hectic and all, but then he mentioned eating cake off naked mens and I was all in, baby!

What? I like cake.

So what am I sharing with you today? I have a new release coming Dec 5th and thought we’d talk about that. It’s titled Sinner, Savior and is book two in my Brooklyn Sinners series with Ellora’s Cave. Book one is Love the Sinner. Sinner, Savior is the story of Juan Pablo Castillo who readers first meet in Love the Sinner. He was the best friend, the partner in crime, the one to be counted on through thick and thin. He was also in love with his best friend, but thought better of making his feelings known for the longest time. When he finally dared to let that particular wall down, it was too late. The man he loved, loved somebody else, died for somebody else, and Pablo is left with a shattered heart and anger he can barely contain. He’s definitely not allowing himself to feel anything for anyone again, but come now, we know how that goes.

He meets Dev and well…yeah.

The truth of it is, I never planned to give Pablo his book. He was supposed to be a throwaway character, but seeing his heart break was too much. I had to make it right with him. I had to put him through the fire one more ‘gain before he could get his HEA. Yes, he has the devil of a time letting go of what he wanted. He’d been holding on with ragged fingertips to the last vestiges of the love he’d felt for his best friend for so long that when Dev comes along Pablo can’t understand why the man has him coming undone so quickly, with little effort.

Don’t you just love when they fall so hard and so completely?

Getting to Pablo to accept the love Dev wants to give him was the hardest part to write; how do you make someone accept something they’re convinced they don’t deserve?

*****I’m giving one commenter a pdf of Love the Sinner, so please leave your email in the comments.

Sinner, Savior Blurb
Gun runner Pablo Castillo has cemented his reputation in the gun trade as callous and cold-hearted. Personal feelings no longer matter, not with everyone out to make him a sacrifice on their way to the top. He remains untouchable, until a meeting with a rival gang leader and a new deal brings him face-to-face with temptation.

Dev is the right hand to a sadistic bastard out for blood and glory. He hides his true feelings of distaste for his boss, not the least of his many secrets. He could’ve sworn those secrets were safe, but after meeting Pablo he’s not so sure. The two men come together in a heated affair neither can deny, battling themselves, each other and a deadly enemy bent on spilling blood. Pablo and Dev will have to stick together or walk away from a love neither man expected to find. The choice should be simple. It never is.

BIO
l always wanted to have a sexy bio, one to reflect who I am, but after drawing a blank, l could only come up with: I eat cake and I read books…ooh, and I write ‘em too. No one liked it and after massive peer-pressure and pouting, I managed something more…suitable?

A Caribbean transplant, Avril now lives in Brooklyn, N.Y with a tolerant Spousal Equivalent. Together they raise an eccentric daughter who loves reading and school (not so much school anymore). Avril’s earliest memories of reading revolve around discussing plot points of The Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys with an equally book-minded mother

Always in love with the written word, Avril finally decided to do the writing in August of ’09 and never looked back. Spicy love scenes, delicious heroes, and wicked women burn up the pages of Avril’s stories, but there’ll always be a happy ending; Av remains a believer of love in all its forms.
