Thursday Spotlight Nikki Prince

Good morning! I'm happy to have on Nikki Prince featuring her newest paranormal interracial romance! Let's see what she has to say in an interview done with sis muse, Rawiya!

How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing off and on since the age of 12.  I got really serious about it again last year 2011 and then in the middle of that year got a bit discouraged and restarted again in March of 2012 when I got my first contract for a book that I co-wrote with friend and fellow author Bella Rosso called Hot For the Teacher.  That book just came out November 29, 2012.

When did you decide that writing erotic fiction was for you?  When my tastes turned from closed door sex to wanting to know all. J

Are you comfortable with writing the sex scenes?  I love writing sex scenes so I’m not in the least uncomfortable doing them.

Is there anything that inspires you to do these? Other books, porn…*grins*
What is the maximum heat level in your books?  I’m hoping that with each book I bring another level of heat.  Demon Tempted is the second book in the Karmic Lust series and that one is my hottest by far.  It will have M/M sex in it, anal and toys.  Each time I write I try to bring the heat.  I will let the reader be the judge of that.

Do you believe the trend that sweet romance is now more popular than erotica? Why or why not?  I think each genre has its own niche.  There are those who will want to read both, or one or the other.  I don’t think either will truly die out.

Do you think it means that people are tired of just in your face erotica?
Do you write for the love or the money or both?  I write for the love of writing.  Don’t get me wrong the royalty checks will be great.  But I really write because I love it and I want others to enjoy the stories that have been screaming to come out.

Would you ever consider doing erotica or even jumping to m/m or f/f?  Oh yes I’m considering it and like I said above I dabbled in M/M in my story Demon Tempted.

As an author, do you feel it’s important to be part of the national writer organizations like RWA?  It is for me.  I joined in April of this year and I love it.  In fact next year I will be co-programs director for my local chapter OCC/RWA.  I love being able to talk to others who know what I’m talking about when I mention my muse or my characters talking to me.  Other romance writers get “me.”  It may not be for everyone, but I love it and I recommend it.

Recently, an author went after a blogger for a two star review. How would you have handled that and what is your stance on authors answering their critiques.  My stance is this; I won’t ever disrespect someone else about their opinion on my book(s).  I may not like what they say, but as my grandmother always said, “Opinions are like belly buttons everyone has one.”  There is no way everyone will like what I’ve written.  No matter how much I would love them to.  But my stance is let them have their say and keep on writing.

Tell us a little about your latest projects and what books you have coming out next.  I’m pleased to say that my NaNo project Demon Tempted got picked up by Evernight Publishing.  As I said above it is the second book in the Karmic Lust series.  It’s great because this is the longest book I’ve written to date. 50k.  I’m working on several other pieces.

What advice do you have for writers to be or those new to the industryNever stop, keep going no matter what happens and follow your dream.  Also remember you can’t trust everyone with your baby (writing, MS).

What promotional methods work best for you? Blogging, blog hops, word of mouth, Facebook and Twitter.

Fun Questions
Boxers or Briefs?  Boxer briefs.  I love those on a man.  So damn sexy.

What celebrity man or woman do you wish you could have but can’t?  I love Oded Fehr.  I love his look most especially when he had his long hair in Deuce Bigalow and the Mummy movies as the Magi.

The character in one of your books that you identify with?  In Mocha Kisses and Hot For the Teacher I can identify with both heroines because they are both cougars (in relationships with younger men).  I myself married a man 11 years younger than me.  So I can identify with Dyani and Meredith for that reason.

Chocolate or Vanilla?  I’m a victim of the Swirl…so I want both. J

Bubble bath or shower? Shower, though the occasional bubble bath is nice when I need to unwind.

Lights on or off?  Depends on when you mean.  Sleeping long as I haven’t watched a scary movie, lights off.  During sex…hell yeah I want those lights on so I can see everything.

Favorite way to relax. Don’t say write!  I’m a gamer.  I love to play Call of Duty, The Sims, World of Warcraft and other games.  For those who play WoW I’m horde all the way.  I’ve played alliance but prefer the bad side.

Excerpt:  ((Be warned its HOT-EROTIC))

He placed her hand at his pants then released her. She knew what he wanted just with that gesture. Undoing them, she jerked them down his hips and freed him. Unable to stop herself, she glanced down and at his cock. God, it was beautiful. He was beautiful. She knelt before him, taking his cock in her hand and stroked him slowly.
“Alexa…aren’t I supposed to be taking you to bed?”
“Yes, but it’s my turn.”
The head of his cock had a pearly bead of pre-come and she couldn’t resist giving it a swipe of her tongue. She peered into his eyes as she licked the head of his cock again and then placed the tip in her mouth, slowly suckling.
He arched into her and gripped the back of her head. With short and shallow thrusts of his hips, he slid his cock all the way into her mouth and she moaned around it. She placed her hands on his thighs, feeling the power there as he fed her his cock. His taste hit her tongue, and she purred as a swirling hunger hit the pit of her stomach and went straight to her throbbing clit. Pulling back a bit on his cock, she licked around the head, swiping underneath with quick little flicks that produced a growl from him.
She was just getting started, and he slipped from her mouth. Alexa grumbled in protest, then he picked her up into his arms and settled on the bed with her in front of him, face to face. She gazed at him and leaned up to kiss him lightly, before she lay back against the pillows.
“I guess now you’re actually taking me to bed.” She winked at him and he chuckled.
“Yes, I guess now that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
He reached for one of the condoms they’d left out on the nightstand opened it, donned it, and put the wrapper on the same nightstand. Turning back to her, he smiled and positioned himself over her, nudging her legs open with his own. Taking his cock in hand, he set it at her entrance and thrust forward, seating himself into her fully.
Her breath caught and she placed her hands on his shoulders, wrapping her legs up high around his waist. She whimpered as he hit so deep within her she could swear he touched her cervix.
“Oh!”
